Next Steps

Wondering what’s next in becoming a member of Community Church or how to get connected? Take a look at the NEXT STEPS to getting involved and finding a place to belong as you journey here at Community!

BELIEVE

The most important requirement for becoming all God wants us to be is to have accepted Christ as our Savior. With a true presence of the Lord established in our lives, we will experience the help of the Holy Spirit and all He can bring to our lives.

WORSHIP

Gathering with Community for worship on a weekly basis builds faith, deepens understanding, and provides encouragement in your walk with Jesus.

BAPTISM

Following Christ:

To understand the reason for being water baptized, it is important to consider what the Bible says about it.

Jesus himself was baptized. He was not a sinner, yet he humbled himself in obedience to identify with us and give us an example to follow. At this time, Jesus came from Nazareth in Galilee and was baptized by John in the Jordan. The moment he came out of the water, he saw the sky split open and God’s Spirit, looking like a dove, come down on him. Along with the Spirit, a voice: “You are my Son, chosen and marked by my love, pride of my life.” Mark 1:9 MSG

An Act of Obedience:

Water baptism is an act of faith and obedience to the commands of Christ.

“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” Matthew 28:19-20

A Public Declaration:

Baptism declares that you are a follower of Jesus Christ. It is a public confession of your faith in, and commitment to, Jesus Christ. It is the next step after salvation through repentance and faith and is important for the Christian life.

CONNECT

Connecting with others provides accountability and encouragement for your journey of faith. Jesus modeled this in His ministry, so we should too. We are challenged by God to grow and this means knowing Christ through our knowledge of the Bible and who you are in Him. We ask those who call Community Church their home to build relationships with those whom they fellowship and serve with. This can be accelerated through Community Groups, which include Bible studies & fellowship groups. Get to know other people and do life together. Love one another as Christ loved us. The most powerful ministry occurs when believers journey through life together as they follow Christ and serve others. We have many weekly opportunities for connecting with others, including Community Groups, classes, men’s and women’s Bible studies, and more.

SERVE

At Community Church, we know God has given all believers gifts and talents to use for His purpose.
