Next Steps

Wondering what’s next in becoming a member of Community Church or how to get connected? Take a look at the NEXT STEPS to getting involved and finding a place to belong as you journey here at Community!

The most important requirement for becoming all God wants us to be is to have accepted Christ as our Savior. With a true presence of the Lord established in our lives, we will experience the help of the Holy Spirit and all He can bring to our lives.

Gathering with Community for worship on a weekly basis builds faith, deepens understanding, and provides encouragement in your walk with Jesus.

Following Christ:

To understand the reason for being water baptized, it is important to consider what the Bible says about it.

Jesus himself was baptized. He was not a sinner, yet he humbled himself in obedience to identify with us and give us an example to follow. At this time, Jesus came from Nazareth in Galilee and was baptized by John in the Jordan. The moment he came out of the water, he saw the sky split open and God’s Spirit, looking like a dove, come down on him. Along with the Spirit, a voice: “You are my Son, chosen and marked by my love, pride of my life.” Mark 1:9 MSG

An Act of Obedience:

Water baptism is an act of faith and obedience to the commands of Christ.

“Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” Matthew 28:19-20

A Public Declaration:

Baptism declares that you are a follower of Jesus Christ. It is a public confession of your faith in, and commitment to, Jesus Christ. It is the next step after salvation through repentance and faith and is important for the Christian life.

Are you ready to know more about Community Church?  If you are new to Community Church, WELCOME HOME! Join us on the 1st Sunday of each month in between services for coffee and a time to meet the pastors. Bring your questions, such as “How do I join Community Church?” and “How do I get connected?” We would love the opportunity to meet YOU!

Connecting with others provides accountability and encouragement for your journey of faith. Jesus modeled this in His ministry, so we should too. We are challenged by God to grow and this means knowing Christ through our knowledge of the Bible and who you are in Him. We ask those who call Community Church their home to build relationships with those whom they fellowship and serve with. This can be accelerated through Community Groups, which include Bible studies & fellowship groups. Get to know other people and do life together. Love one another as Christ loved us. The most powerful ministry occurs when believers journey through life together as they follow Christ and serve others. We have many weekly opportunities for connecting with others, including Community Groups, classes, men’s and women’s Bible studies, and more.

At Community Church, we know God has given all believers gifts and talents to use for His purpose. Not only does the body of Christ grow stronger, so does the spiritual life of the individual believer. You can make a difference in the lives of others – begin sharing your time and talents today! There are many opportunities waiting for you, on a weekly or rotating basis. We have a team ready to help you find the perfect fit. Check out all the opportunities HERE or sign up at the link below!

Church membership is open to any person who professes faith in the Lord Jesus Christ as Savior and is in harmony with our church beliefs. Membership at Community means you will pursue a Spirit-filled life, healthy relationships, respecting and caring for the other parts of the bod, and seek to serve more than be served. You also agree to support the vision, mission, and guiding values, and culture of Community Church as outlined in the "Leading and Serving at Community Church". Members receive spiritual covering, care, training of the elders, pastors and leaders. They will pray for you, serve with you, and encourage you in your journey!
